On Christmas Eve our son turned three years old. Where the heck has time gone? As part of the celebration, we took him on a “date” shortly after Christmas, featuring all of his favorite things. Pancakes, trains, race cars … we had a great time doing our own little “day in the life” session. We can’t believe how big he’s getting and couldn’t love him more!

Those of you who follow our work with any regularity will undoubtedly find this adorable little girl familiar – she’s had four TSP portrait sessions since March! Watch her getting bigger, starting here, and then here at nine months, and then with her family at our Fall Holiday Sessions, and now she’s about to turn one – oh my! How quickly they grow. Happy 1st birthday, cutie-pie Nora!

Well, our Holiday Sessions ended up being spread over two days (three, if you count our rescheduled sessions!) and they suffered from a massive failure of meteorology. BUT, a good time was had by all, and most importantly, I think we got some great shots! We met up with some old friends and made new ones, too. Who cares about a little rain? Not this crowd! Thanks to everyone who came out – we had a blast and hope you did, too!

As promised, here is Part Two of the Shannon Sewell workshop. This shoot featured two adorable little boys … who just so happened to belong to one of the other photographers! They totally rocked it out, wearing clothing by Knuckleheads. Â Such cutie-pies, they were great models!
A Labor-less Day

WOW, did we have some fun this past weekend! Mark and I decided to keep things work-free and just have some good old-fashioned family time (wellll, we did squeeze in a bit of web development and design work … more about that later this week!). We went to a family barbecue and Arts, Beats and Eats; I went for a few runs and hung out with my book club; Mark played golf and engaged in some Fantasy Football; and we visited one of our favorite places: Calder Dairy.
The dairy is a real, working farm. You can pet the animals, play on trucks, pet more animals, have a picnic, get ice cream, run around, and play in the dirt. In other words: Kid Heaven. Â We always bring a cooler and stock up on their amazing, fresh-off-the-farm diary products, such as eggs, cheese, milk, and ice cream. Especially ice cream! You can get their products locally at places like Holiday Market, but it’s so much more fun to get it direct from the source and visit with the cows who so graciously provided you with your milk and ice cream. Here are a few highlights from our day …
Little Boys Rock!

This session reinforced my belief that little boys rock – literally! We scaled rocks, threw them into the pond, ran around, and just generally enjoyed ourselves. These little guys should hang out with my little guy next time they’re in town! Great kids, great session – have a safe trip back to Minnesota, K Family!
Double the Fun!

Seven kids, four adults, a dog, and a gorgeous summer morning made for a great double family portrait session out at Mill Race last weekend. We often tell our clients to think of their portrait session as a playdate with a professional photographer, and this session definitely lived up to that description. We ran, played, jumped, climbed trees, and skipped rocks … I hope these two families had as much fun as I did!
(P.S. The images are presented below in chronological order – to see each families’ individual album, head over to our Facebook page.)
The Littlest Heroes

TSP is proud/excited to announce that we’ve been chosen to be part of the official Photography Team at The Littlest Heroes Project. This amazing organization provides free – yes, FREE! – photography sessions for children who bravely face serious illness every day (along with their families, of course!). We are honored to participate, and we can’t wait to help this organization with their awesome work.
The Littlest Heroes Project was started by one woman a year and a half ago and has blossomed into something truly awesome: an international collective of professional photographers committed to capturing memories for the bravest, strongest, kids out there … truly, these children are little heroes. Please click on the link above to learn more, contribute to the cause, spread the word, and show your support. What a cool way to start off the weekend here at TSP.

I’ve never done this before, but as we’re going through the editing process I’ve fallen in love with a picture and I want to share it, even though it wasn’t in the sneak peek I posted a few days ago! I don’t know what it is … the way it shows off her tiny dimple, or the highlights in her curly hair, or the green grass in the background. She’s just so super cute I couldn’t resist … so here it is!
